The Increasing Need for Genuine Interaction in AI-Influenced Social Media

Social media plays a huge role in our lives nowadays and with artificial intelligence (AI) becoming more involved, things are changing fast.

AI influences everything from content creation to user interaction, and as a result, the need for authenticity and honesty has never been more critical.

AI has drastically changed how we interact online. Algorithms put out personalized content, chatbots manage customer service inquiries, and AI-generated content is becoming increasingly complicated.

Originally, authenticity and honesty were hard to come by on social media whether it was product reviews, partnerships, or Photoshop. Now, on top of that, the line between human interaction and automated responses is blurring.

If AI tools are used to enhance your social media presence whether that’s creating content, scheduling posts, replying to users, or analyzing engagement, being open about this can increase trust. Followers appreciate knowing the extent to which AI is involved in their interactions.

Recently, I found myself unfollowing a brand where I could tell that AI wrote their captions.

Captions are a way to connect with the audience and seeing this brand not even try to add a humanistic touch was off-putting. It felt like they didn’t care enough to put the effort into their social media, earning an unfollow.

When followers believe they are interacting with a real person who shares genuine thoughts, experiences, and emotions, they are more likely to form a lasting connection.

This trust is the foundation of meaningful online relationships, whether you’re a brand, an influencer, or an everyday user.

Authenticity fosters community. Social media platforms thrive on the creation of communities where people feel seen and heard. Being genuine can contribute to an environment where someone feels safe enough to share their true self.

In a world increasingly dominated by AI, showing that you’re human on social media is more important than ever.
